The School of Social Sciences will teach a course for doctoral students this fall. This course is open to all doctoral students at the University of Iceland. Registration is limited to 25 students and attendance is required. See course description below and information on how to register.
Research design and applications (FVS 702F) 2ECTS

The aim of the course is to enhance students‘skills in designing their research and writing applications to research funds. Focus is on The University of Iceland Research Fund/Háskólasjóður Eimskipafélags Íslands and other domestic funds. The course deals with application writing in general as well as the organizing and structuring of research design. The course is organized as a workshop, which means that students will work in pairs/small groups on their own projects as well as giving feedback to the work of others. This includes making a research design or grant applications. Grades are not given but all students are required to turn in a self-assessment and attend at least five out of six lessons. Prerequisite for participation in the course is that students either have a draft of a research design or an already approved research proposal from their PhD studies.
Teaching period: The course will start on October 19.the; the next class will be on November 2nd, November 9th. November 16th. and November 30th.
